2019/20 Fellows and their positions
Abigail Mitchell Abigail is serving with St. John’s the Evangelist in St. Paul in their Children Youth and Family sector, and is also working as a Communications Coordinator with First Nations Kitchen. She has recently graduated from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in the midst of the pandemic with a degree in Apparel Design and a second degree in Art. She hopes to use her talents to assist her placement sites and she is looking forward to serving with them this coming year. She is currently assisting with the creation of a remote Sunday school curriculum with St. John’s, helping First Nations Kitchen with their weekly produce giveaways, and much more.
Grant Two Bulls Grant Two Bulls graduated from Dartmouth College in 2019 with a bachelor's in History, and then served for a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA Member at Hopewell Music Cooperative - North, in North Minneapolis. Grant is returning for his second year as both an AmeriCorps member and a Circle of the Beloved fellow, where he will now be a VISTA Leader of Literacy Minnesota's VISTA program. Outside of service, Grant enjoys going to the gym, playing basketball, and playing video games.
Rachel Friedland Rachel was serving at the Teen Tech Center and since quarantine, she has been making a podcast with both fun info (how to have a social life while distancing) and important things (tips for safe travel). Rachel really wants to be able to reach out to the people she has been serving, but that hasn't been easy to do lately. She continues to work hard to make a difference for their youth. Sha-niece Jackson Sha-niece is a Florida native who will serve through AmeriCorps as a Scholar Coach at Sojourner Truth Academy with the MN Reading Corps. Sha-niece truly enjoys spending time with her students, watching them learn and process these teaching times via computers! She loves to cook, is enjoying exploring her new neighborhood and Minneapolis and has a very contagious laugh!
