2019/20 Fellows and their positions
Caitlin Parsley Caitlin is interning with Visitation Monastery in North Minneapolis. As she studies Salesian Spirituality with the Sisters, she is able to put these ideas into practice through community service at Ascension Catholic School, Cookie Cart, Phyllis Wheatley Community Center, and St. Anne's Shelter. Caitlin continues to tutor teenagers during the pandemic and has been blessed to help her sister and her family with childcare.
Grant Two Bulls Grant has continued his service virtually at Hopewell Music Cooperative - North, since the start of quarantine. He has been focusing his efforts on grant writing and developing a short video project on music in the 1950s in Minneapolis, which will be distributed to seniors living in care centers in North Minneapolis. Outside of Teleservice, Grant has been meditating, trying to exercise, drinking lots of coffee, participating in an online poetry workshop, and calling lots of friends.
Rachel Friedland Rachel was serving at the Teen Tech Center and since quarantine, she has been making a podcast with both fun info (how to have a social life while distancing) and important things (tips for safe travel). Rachel really wants to be able to reach out to the people she has been serving, but that hasn't been easy to do lately. She continues to work hard to make a difference for their youth.
Sarah Brickson Sarah has been working remotely for First Nations Kitchen since April. They made the decision to temporarily close, so she has been fundraising, writing their newsletter, and keeping their community connected through digital media. The first week of May, Sarah helped First Nation's Kitchen raise over $2,500 during Give at Home MN and they even won a $2,500 daily prize!
